Re: 9012 hir2 head lights in our cars

I made ridiculously bright lights by A) replacing the "big 3" electrical wires with brand new 4ga and 2ga where it would fit. B) install Sylvania Silverstar Ultra bulbs in both low beam and high beam sockets. Then, angle the lights up a wee bit. They're ridiculously bright and required no messing ab...

Re: Electrical Wire Colors

I wish I could help you out, dude. However, most of my wires are sun bleached to such an extent to be mostly unidentifiable. If I ever have to take my car apart as far as yours is it's getting converted to ODBII with all new wiring and a newer engine.

Re: window regulator

That link came through in the clutch, good sir. Thanks Sandman, but the link in the post above this one linked to the regulator in a junkyard exactly 146 miles from my house. They want $10 to pull it and ship it to me. It'll be here tomorrow or Friday, which is very good because my dying window regu...

Re: Sensor I.D.

Oh damn dude, sorry. I had no idea your hatch was a STD. Mine is a DX, and the sensor pictures in the OP is a dead ringer for the one I had to replace to get my radiator fan operational a couple summers ago. I really need to take my engine apart and clean the living feces out of the water jackets an...

Re: Still dead with compression, spark, and fuel

Take the fuel line that goes from filter to throttle body off and try to crank it. If gas comes out then IDK what your issue is unless it's out of time or something.

Re: Gas prices

Well, y'all make more money as well. Your mininum wage is substantially higher than that of the U.S. I think it largely balances out, especially once you take into account the superiority of your gasoline.

Re: window regulator

OK. I searched my butt off for a NEW regulator for over a year now and might have found some luck. Dorman makes a lot of 4g parts but the driver regulator is for sedan so I'd have to recycle some parts from my crappy broken regulator to make it work? And it's on backorder. They say they can ship it ...

Re: proper storage??

If it sat for a while with more than just a wee bit of gas for a few months then ideally you will drain that crap out, fill it up with a couple gallons of fresh gasoline, and then drive it to your favorite gas station to fill it up. Mine sat with a half tank of gas for 11 weeks once and it ran like ...

Re: Stereo out, trunk light blinks with turn signal

+1 you yanked something loose. When I lived in the ghetto in college some crackhead stole my excelon kdc-x995. I hadn't even screwed it all the way in yet and instead of neatly lifting and disconnecting the wires the mofo just yanked it out like some incompetent crackhead thief. It killed the HVAC c...

I'm glad that phrase is used outside of the United States. It's awesome.

Re: Gas prices

It would be seriously awesome if regular gas stations stateside sold 98 and 95 octane gasoline as "pump gas". Here it's basically just 87 for $3.21 right now, 89 for 3.35 and 93 for 3.50. To get higher than that it's generally 110 octane race gas for ~$6/gallon.

In my car-related Internet travels (considerable quantity) I[ve noted that a lot of folks that like hatchbacks like station wagons, old V8's, and Volvos, especially V70Rs and older volvo wagons (ideally with GM crate motor swaps).

Re: Bought my first handgun, are you feeling lucky punk? :D

Google search for "banging in little rock" to see what parts of my hometown and current city was when I was in ~pre K- ~2nd grade before Bill Clinton got elected president and they hired a SHITLOAD of cops for the inauguration party and they've grown the number of police since then. We got a pretty ...

I'm glad you got it sorted out! Just please never take it to the junkyard unless it's crunched like a soda can.
