For Sale?

Is this forum dead? I can't get a response to add me to the for sale portion?

Either way reach out if interested in my '91 hatch. Originally a California car so no rust. Bone stock. Asking $2k firm. Driven daily - 275K miles.

Re: Another difficult start situation

Hmmm I guess this forum is dead now. I swapped the main relay for my spare and she hasn't acted up since so I'm gonna say she's fixed. Now during the playing with it I found my radiator cracked (that's where my coolant is going), doh!!! Oh well that is a quick easy fix that will be done this weekend...

Re: Intermittent Idle Issue

Don't take it to a dealer to fix - it is just a small wire to fasten - easy fix. I had the same problem a couple years ago, cleaned up my IACV and put on that wire and its ran perfect ever since.

Another difficult start situation

I've read the FAQ, been here for years and never experienced this with my baby. Turns over strong but won't start. That is unless I pump the accelerator frantically - once started it will restart quickly like a fuel injected car should. 2 days later same thing - pump frantically and she'll eventuall...

Re: ZERO compression, still driveable?

Not really as you have 3 other cylinders for it run on. Pop the head off and see what you have to work with. You should be able to do it in a weekend.

Hood Hinge

Help, My left hand driver's side hood hinge broke. Looks like a common part failure as I'm seeing parts all over the interweb - but they all say "sedan" - does any one know if 60170SH4000ZZ will fit my 91' DX Hatch? I'd like to buy new if available as that would mean I'd get another 25 years out of ...

Re: 1989 Civic Hatchback DX Audio Setup

Put some decent 6.5" coax in the door and a 10" sub in the back - with that small cabin you'll have tons of sound. I run 120w amp to my fronts and about 240 to my sub and it is pretty impressive. I also have a 8" ported I throw in every once a while and that little sucker will flex the roof on the o...

Re: 1989 Civic Hatchback DX General Concerns

Rattling - look underneath - if you have stock exhaust it came with a heat shield around the intermediate pipe which will rust - and begin to rattle. I'd look at it prior to taking to mechanic. But if rust is setting in on the exhaust you'll be replacing it soon either way. Window - mine has a speci...

Re: which engine would do the job?

280k (miles) on mine and counting - taken care of every 5k by the dealer until I bought it. It is driven daily (by my daughter) now. No issues. Just put a timing belt on it myself, some new front axles, and now awaiting some new struts for the rear.

Look for anything by DEI and/or Vipre - all good equipment and should be easy install on a 4G.

Re: Rear Struts

Fair enough, thanks. I really think it is just the bushings since there is no bounce but not knowing how old they really are and considering the price I might as well replace it all. Thanks again!

Rear Struts

So my passenger side rear strut is getting noisy (like something is loose or broken). It rattles a bit over bumps. No bounce though. So considering the age and unknown status it is probably easiest to just replace both back struts. Visually I see nothing broken. What exactly do I need to buy. When I...
