Thanks :)
Oh it would be there already but I got a slight case of "unemployment" mated with a serious case of "flat ass broke" and I had to postpone those plans. I know what I need and where to get it, I was just about to place orders a few years back when I got sacked.

I have to say that a B20/vtec build has been lurking in the back of my head...but that would be a lot more work than a turbo.

Cams, valvesprings and retainers. I need to get it o the dyno again to see where it's at. Carefull estimate is 150 to 160hp. It should be closer to 160 based on the past runs and other built dohv engines.

I need to be sure they're A9 compatible before I get anything.

I'm fairly sure the A1/ZC parts are the same. JGE had a nice kit on sale but as I've heard they're out of business. As it is now, the stock parts can handle +8000rpm as long as you've got the stock cams but the second you upgrade you're in trouble. And if you just upgrade the springs you'll risk splitting a retainer in half.

might have to piece everything time by time and then finally rebuild the head one time just to make sure nothing breaks or fails, and plus it would get tedious constantly take off the valve cover wasting the gasket and effort.

I was going to, but when I swapped the head it just wasn't possible. I have the extra cams I'm gonna get redone(regrinds). Oh well, it's not that big of a deal to do them again.

Yeah. The cams are stock. The head has been decked 2mm and it's been slightly ported.
The stock cams are very mild.

Let's hope it won't rain too much this weekend. I need to do a fall service on the car.
I also moved this topic. It was the only one in the gen. section. :D

Hey sandman great job, been reading your thread with great interest. I'm an original owner of a 91 civic si and middle of a renovation project myself. Replaced all suspension bushings with pic performance rubber bushings and OEM honda trailing arm bushings. What a difference that made! Have updated several sway bars and strut tower bars, and have KYB shocks otherwise springs and front sway bar are stock. Keep it going, I'll be looking forward to the updates. My civic Si had a lot of rust issues in the suspension and I had to fiberglass in new inner rockers. (my mechanic friend did all the work for me). Now I'm pondering replacing or rebuilding my D16A6.

Thanks, I've still got the whole bushing battle ahead of me. I'm not looking forward to it. I was supposed to do it this summer but it didn't get done. I had a lot of other issues to worry about as well.

Unfortunately, rust is just about the only thing that kills these things. But it is fun as hell to drive.

Spring! I've got new rear control arms on the way from the land of windmills and tulips. And while I wait I had a feeling I need to do a spring check up.
