Civic bodyKit

Post by JoJo5150 »

Hey guys I was wondering on the body kits how does it work with the moldings on the side? Do. You remove those or does the side skirts cover them? If so the. What about doors? Thnx.

If you saw the topic asking "bodykit or OEM" you'd now that people here prefer OEM or close to it. Leave it alone :)

Please dont use any lips other than lips specifically designed ef9/ee9
Really ruins the look of 4g's imo

Chargespeed/J's Racing or oem for front lip
Oem skirts
And oem rear lip

WINNING!

I vehemently disagree with this, not to mention that it is a false idea that the J's or chargespeed is "specifically" designed for a 4g.
Both lips are generic designs, that are manufactured to fit a 4g civic. (or eg or ek)
OEM are the only options that are specifically designed for our cars. If you can make a toyota camry, ford ranger, vw jetta, or volvo 940 lip fit, and you like the look of it, do it. Volvo put just as much time into specifically designing their front lip for a 4g as chargespeed or J's did (absolutley none)
Unless you are a brand whore, and want to impress people with names. (or like spending hundreds of $'s on "fashion accesories")

honestly its hard to stick to lips specifically made for the 4G's are hard to use because theres not much of a market for the car itself... and plus the market that is there wants to rape your pocket over a front piece of plastic that gets scratched up daily. i'd say go with something homemade from another car or garage door liniing from home depot or if you have the cash and like the specified lips from other brand names then hell, go for it!

Maybe i wrote that a bit wrong
but im a fan of lips designed for an ef
not ones that you offer up and they fit
Ie. looking at lips online and seeing j's racing ef front lip
and not 'mk3 golf front lip for ef'

But i see your point
although personally im not a fan of mk3 golf or others similar that 'fit' a 4g but not sold as a 4g lip
Maybe you could say im a brand whore ::)

lol we all have some brand whoreishness when it comes to cars, i used to get alot of props for my chargespeed lip for a crx on a ef but began to hate it because it was too much lip for a small car so id rather use something else, regardless of what it is. i also see some beauty in having something that no one knows about or doesnt expect (and works good)

I get'cha!
But imo mk3 golf lips etc dont compliment a 4g
Just something un-explainable about them

I have done the 92-95 mugen style lip on my 88-89 bumper it fits good with a little trimming done. BUT I didn't really like the look of it.
