rear spring rubber mounts

Post by Simonf »

Can anyone tell me if I can replace my stock upper spring mounts on my stock 91 civic si? The rubber spring mount seems to be crumbling and so far I can not find a good source for the parts. Also, if I buy coil overs do they come with a rubber mount to the underside of the body? Thank you :)

If you're talking about the part that the shocks are mounted through, you can and should replace them. When you buy coilovers they will not include these.

Hello and thank you for the info. The problem is that the parts come up as no longer available when I look at my favorite Honda parts website. I have found some aftermarket parts, but I am always a bit reluctant to go with aftermarket parts because in the past I have found them to be less durable. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks again. :)

All 4 corners should have the same parts. I'd go with aftermarket parts since that's probably the only thing you'll find and if you do happen to find OEM parts they might be a lot more expensive. I've used aftermarket parts on my cars and so far I've had very little problems.

Well I had one set fail on me, but that was after years of track abuse and I hadn't touched them at all so they could have been +15yo. :D

Sorry for the late reply. I was sort of busy after work. :)
