At least we're no.1 in something lol..
Ah well, back to work in a couple of hours. I think I'll take the bicycle.

Exactly, I hope this puts a few things into perspective for some Americans. We really don't pay all that much for petrol than most. Yet most will still bitch and complain. At least on this site most of us have pretty efficient cars. My Mustang, if just driving in the city, get between 11-14 mpg. My Camaro gets about 9. My Civic...35.

The price in the morning was 1.6€ per litre, litre being 0,26 gallons that's 8 usd per gallon.
And this is for 98oct, but 95oct isn't far behind. I suspext that the info provided there is out of date.

Yes, it's outdated. Last sunday I paid € 1.56 / l for 95oct. Which is roughly 8 USD / gallon.
You can see it on the streets. Lots of VW polo 3-cilinder diesels, Prius, Tiny Fiat diesels. these cars are also stimulated by the goverment (low tax).
the worst are the (Prius) drivers who roll out for a traffic light 200 meters away. Or the people that are doing 50 on the highway in the slipstream of a truck.

I dunno about minimum wage, but I guess this is as low as you can go on this particular area(we have different basic contracts for every job). I make about 1600€ a month(monthly salary). It's a good 1000€ a month less than my old job. I guess that's about 10€ per hour. It's not much but at least now I have free time and a job that I don't hate.

The change in jobs is also a big reason why I sold the volvo when I did and got myself a third 4G. When the fuel is 1.60€ a litre it matters if the car does about 7-8/100km or 14-25l/100km.

Yes but violent crimes are soaring high here, we already passed the record 1000 murders mark and a violent season (christmas) is just starting :( . For a small island like ours, heavily populated thats a lot.

It has to be mentioned that the city listed (San Juan, our capital) is the most populated, most violent and most expensive to live, gas is always expensive there (except for our two little island-cities which of course the gas cost a lot to transport). Here in my city I paid $0.83 for regular days ago, the prices have been steady for some weeks now.

At least we are on a "good" list now...Image

yeah i remembered you were telling how you also run the risk of being pulled out of your car while driving in PR which is hell. even though NYC can be bad and theres always bad news on the news channels. the chances of being pulled out of your car for it to be stolen is minimum... but being followed home then having it stolen while you sleep is highly typical. of friend of a firend had his bone stock GSR stolen in the dead of winter in over one feet of snow!

Same here in the 3.30's at the good stations. Cheaper at the rez stations. Cheap gas plus 40mpg = O0
