Depends on how complicated the CAI is . I just fabricated my RAM Air intake .The only thing i bough was the oil soaked filter .

Why? because they make more power than a short ram.
As long as the inner fender liner is installed you're not getting any water in there without driving into at least 1 foot+ of water.
I run AEM

I've heard fitting issues with weapon R, stick with AEM.

Aem, injen, greddy, weapon r, apc, hks, arc, blitz, ebay special...there are plenty to chose from. Question is how much you're willing to spend to gain a few horses....if you prove it on the dyno.
Intakes are like exhaust, you have your NA, low displacement 4 banger, mild tuned and you expect nice gains from dropping a fancy brand-name exhaust or intake...simply it won't happen. How many people used to rock $500+ exhaust and now they have magnaflow or dynomax mufflers on their ride? In the horsepower to dollar ratio exhausts and intakes are really low, too much money spent for gaining almost zero power is not worth if your engine is not heavily tuned or is low displacement.

Re: Cold air Intake question?
EL is right, but in the world of 100 HP Honda engines, a couple of thousand dollars for 10-20 extra horsepower isn't a toal waste of money. No matter if you swap motors or build a d16, you're going to spend big bucks to get serious power.
If you've decided that you're sticking with a N/A motor, you might as well buy intake, headers and exhaust, because you're going to need them eventually, you may only gain 10-20 hp from the famous bolt-on trio, but when the day comes when you regrind your cam and do a little head work, those simple bolt-ons are going to pay-off.
So get quality parts.
I'm running an AEM CAI, Bisimoto V2 Header, Blox Test Pipe, and HKS Exhaust along with a PM7 ECU on a D16A6.
My engine sounds beautiful, and w/ the bolt-ons i'm probally putting about 110-120 hp to the wheels (not confirmed on the dyno yet)
My next step is AEM EMS, Bisimoto Camshaft and cam gear. And in a year or two a complete rebuild of the block and head. After that i'm expecting about 160-180 hp to the wheels.
Sure, you can buy a turbo muffler and have your buddy who works at a muffler shop crush bend a steel pipe for you, and probally only spend a couple C-notes, but crush bends interupt the exhaust flow, and that low budget pipe is going to rust thru eventually, also i'm sure you'll get tired of hearing a loud buzzing noise over your maxed out stereo. So why not spend $400-$500 and get a quality exhaust with stainless steel piping, mandrel bends, resonator, and muffler. HKS, Invidia, Tanabe, Buddy Club Spec II, and Greddy are all great exhaust for our little Civics.
As for Intakes, in my sort-of-professional opinion, i'd say AEM CAI is the way to go, well except for ITBs' of course
Short rams gain power as well as CAI, but they target different rpm ranges (can't remember which one is which)
I used to run an ARC Super Induction Box hooked up to the stock PM6 intake tube, and i'd have to say it worked out great, not only did it flow superb but it sounds like Heaven sucking all the air from the Earth. ARC is probally out of your budget, as it was mine, I'm just a JDM Whore and had to have one.
