showcase: ford ranger lip on ED front bumper

Postby deddth » Sat May 01, 2010 9:17 pm

well, a couple members have asked about the ford ranger lip on me ED hatch bumper, hence this showcase thread.

this lip is a almost drop-in affair, and i wonder why no one has thought of this before. just align the lip to the bumper, you'll figure out where to use the oem ED bumper holes. also you need a couple of self tapping screws, i used five.

on to the pics (not on car):

now, this lip have a second beauty, a hidden lip. here's how it looks with it (pics with bumper on car. second lip left dirty for contrast purpose)

I think you are the first one since there's a thread on another forum about lips and there are many cars mentioned but never have seen a ford ranger on it. The second lip is very useful :D .

yep, i'm also positive that i'm the only one rocking that lip.

a couple of days ago i posted a pic of it at that same thread you quoted in your post.

i'm pretty sure that i will go unnoticed though.

i think it has to do with the fanboiness of that site, lol. if it isn't jdm, it ain't worth it!

Wow! nice fit...and yeah, I think it is pretty safe to say that you may be the only person rocking that lip. IMHO it looks pretty f'n good.
Not alot of JDM fanboys on here...so people are a little more open to new ideas. That being said, I think there may be someone in a gray 91' hatch sporting a ford ranger lip in NYC...at least in the near future. ;) lol.

I'm wondering how the lower lip (may we call it sub-lip) will look with about an inch trimmed (so it doesn't looks so low) and covered with some fake carbon fiber....

Just by curiosity, where are you located? that place looks familiar 8) .

I just put the Volvo lip on my car...good fit, even uses some of the same mounting holes, but you have to trim about 1 1/2 inch off of the ends...mine was beat to shit, (and free) so I didn't really care about a "clean" installation, but I will probably keep my eyes open for another one, (in better shape) so I can re-do it.
I also went ahead and mounted my old Home Depot lip to the Volvo lip...not sure how I feel about it yet, but I probably won't do that again...(really low for a car that hasn't been lowered!)
I will try to get some pics up ASAP.

Here's mine...decent fit, but I'm not sure about the second lip...sorry for the small pics, I still haven't really figured out image shack ??? but I think you can click 'em for bigger shots.

Fixed the pics :thumbright:
the pics may lie...there are a few scrapes and bruises not showing...plus the passenger side is not as clean ::)

So what do you guys think? don't worry about hurting my feelings, I'm not that attatched. ;D
