HELP ME BRING BACK TO LIFE MY SEDAN

Postby ill_cisco » Tue Dec 01, 2015 6:56 am

So I recently bought a 1988 Ef sedan, and I really don't know much that's why I joined this. I had just a couple of questions, did they make a EX version of the 88' sedan with power windows and side mirrors? And does anyone have pictures of the original dash for it, I think I might have a different dash. Also, would a 91 si sedan dash harness work for mine?

the ex was only 90-91 but the LX had power windows and mirrors 88-91

Here is a picture of the original dash.

They never made an SI sedan for the 4th gen. If you are in need of a dash harness your best bet is to stick with the same model and year that you have. Why are you looking to replace the dash harness?

I have a different steering wheel and cluster from that picture, because the previous owner cut most of the wires off.

Post some pictures.

An easy way to post pictures is to post them to http://www.imgur.com and then you can link them on your post with the Img button

Wow! that's going to be an ordeal to get back together. So it looks like they converted it to a 90-91 dash and cluster the wheel could be stock I'm not familiar with sedans as much. Also looks like they started and obviously didn't finish an engine bay wire tuck. If you are willing to read wire diagrams and go through your wiring you could fix what you have other wise I would strongly suggest you get a new engine and under dash harness and just replace all of that.

Yea that's exactly what I did, I went to the junkyard and got a dash harness from 91 sedan, and I'm slowly getting all the rest of the components to the dash like the glove department, the vents, the center piece that holds the climate control, etc.
