(this is all just what I think, don't really know for sure)

All of the trim levels had "options" you can get a STD(CX) with AC, but you cant get an STD with a 5spd tranny or a D16. In Canada you can get any of the trim levels with AC. My Si Doesn't have it.

Same go's with the passenger side mirror. I see some STD's with it and some without it, it was an option for the STD but came standard in the DX's and Si's

Exactly. I have a CX (CX is not an STD) My CX has no pass mirror. no speakers no radio no clock no cig lighter no ac no power steering, most basic door panels, mine does have a 5 speed not 4, it has a small boot around the shifter with absolutely no console, and it does have DPFI. Im sure there is other things im forgetting. this thing had no options from the factory and none from the dealer either.

CX and STD are not the same and it is not a counter part for any U.S. trim level. If i remember correctly the cx was sold for 3 or 4 thousand less then the SI or SE. Which made it less then 10,000 to buy new.

Come on everybody! Step right up!!! It's the civic made just for the tight wads!!!

Crap. Sounds like she's ready for a b-swap from the factory. Honda really had it going for them in the 4g days. They sold one of the lightest cars on the road, the CRX, or as my friend calls them, the 'Civic Racing Xperiment' and now I'm hearing about this 'CX' or as I'm calling it, the 'Civic Xperiment.'
Forget what you heard...

ha my trim models go as follows
siR-sports injected racing
si-sports injected
se-special edition
dx-deluve
lx-luxury
cx- C U X
std-standard

i used to rock a CX,but it had a b17 in it,so i was pretty happy, and the rear bumper was black, and it had an aftermarket radio cause the plug is still behinda the factory plate. and a pass mirror installed after, but no console, just the rubber boot.
parnelly, whereve you been,i bought a car for winter, mine is goin away soon.
siR anyone?

Best Fit Door Speaker Upgrade

Since this is getting way out of topic lets give some real info.

Best Fit Door Speaker Upgrade

Honda Civic Hatchback 88-91

Speaker location: Front door
Size: 6 1/2"
Max depth: 1 7/8"
Height: 5/8"

Speaker location: Rear side panels
Size: 6 1/2"
Max depth -
Height: -

MAX DEPTH is measured from the speaker plate (where the screws are) to the bottom of the magnet. HEIGHT is from the speaker plate to the tallest part of it (the tweeter for example). Choose a speaker within this values and you shouldn't have any probs with the windows glass, doors, panels, etc.

More info

Receiver max depth: 7 1/4"
Size code: E

Honda Civic Sedan 88-91

Receiver max depth: 7 3/4"
Size code: E

Speaker location: Front door
Size: 5 1/4" - 6 1/2"
Max depth: 1 7/8"
Height: 5/8"

Speaker location: Rear deck
Size: 6 1/2"
Max depth: 1 7/8"
Height: 7/8"

Honda Civic CRX 88-91

Receiver max depth: 7 1/2"
Size code: E

Speaker location: Front door
Size: 5 1/4" - 6 1/2"
Max depth: 2"
Height: -

Speaker location: Rear side panel
Size: 6 1/2"
Max depth: 4"
Height: 5/8"

Maybe your car came with speakes in the rear, maybe not. Maybe it came with speaker pods in the doors or maybe not...the thing is that you can put a lot of good and different speakers in that locations if you search around.

Hope this helps.
