Need coil spring compressor suggestion

Postby 88lxer » Tue Jul 19, 2016 5:21 am

Hi Civic4G people,
I'm trying to replace dampers on my 1988 LX(original owners).
The tool from Autozone won't work.
http://www.autozone.com/loan-a-tools/st ... compressor
The hooks are too large to fit the small OEM springs.
Spent yesterday researching and driving to Napa & Harbor Freight and gave up.
Found this Youtube for "LGA" strut spring compressor and noticed the hooks
are thick on one side and thin on the other.

Anybody have specific make and model compressor they would recommend?
Thank you for the help.

I just bought a random brand compressor out of a local part store. I would expect there to be a fitting one somwhere near you.
Stand up and fight!
