I've got myself a new ride!

Postby Sandman » Mon Jan 14, 2013 6:22 pm

...but not exactly what some of you were thinking of. :D
As I said in the other topic, I got myself a motorcycle. As I've probably mentioned before, I'm a member of a motorcycle club in a way that I handle certain things. This way I get in to more of the club events properly. :)

It's a 1996 Yamaha Virago, done 51 thousand kilometers(31 thousand miles), full service history and it's in near mint condition.

And as I said, both of my 4G's are still mine and still getting TLC. The HB is for blasting around doing a million revs per minute, this one is for cruising around. :)

Thanks, I'm a fan of cruisers more than superbikes and enduros. But in the end of the day I'll drive anything with a motor, be it a lawn mower or a moped. :D

Thanks, the front fender has a slight scuff mark on it from a tool thing hanging on it but other than that it's mint. :)

VERY nice looking older Yami!!!!....Those bikes were Yamaha's '"testing" that lead to their "Star" lineup they have now...My ex-father-in-law had one....I rode it a couple times and it was a nice solid bike...Very dependable and should last you a long time...Welcome to the two-wheeled world!!!....Now just watch out for all the idiot cagers that don't pay attention to motorcycles and you'll be fine.. 8)

Thanks. I was looking at 4 others, but they ended up being in a very sad state of repair. Rust, no service history and probably on their 3rd time around the odometer. This one has service history from new and has low mileage for it's age. They're reliable and I know ppl who know these very well so I'm not worried at all.

How it's looking at the moment. Sort of a bad picture, but I've got saddle bags for it, a straighter handle bar and chrome mirrors. I've done a good deal of riding this season. I've been to the south of Estonia on it with the club. :)

Url! Since the pictures are acting up.

The end caps for the bar fell off and they're both somewhere in Estonia. Haven't gotten around to finding new ones.

So the yamaha got a new owner today. Someone 100km away(that's 62 miles away) wanted to trade their current ride for something smaller. Lucky for them I was in the market for a bigger one and I am in the neighborhood so I contacted the guy for a deal.

Here we were in the morning, ready to drive it over.

The end.

Nice! I've always been a fan of the Yamaha Virago, particularly the XV1000.
