Good canidate for a project, doesn't need much cosmetic work like my project :lol: Is that an oem rear bumper modified for dual exhaust? Can't say i like it, but it's different and doesn't look to bad.

I don't know what bumpers I have. Seems like the front bumper has an add-on? The rear bumper has another bumper riveted (right word?) to the original bumper. It still has unpolished and unpolished filler on it. Crappy job by the previous owners, but I love my car on the whole!

The engine is 1,6i. It has 81kW. I think it's from Finland so the engine has to be 1,6i right?

Today I took the transmission off from the engine. I'm embarrassed to say this but I am still not sure what engine I have. :oops: Can you help me out?

The disk is all gone and I think that the pressure plate is gone too.

One other thing.. Can anyone help me to identify my gearbox? I have a 5 speed manual gearbox with 21 splines on the hub.

Judging by the picture of the flywheel, it looks like you have an oil leak at the rear main seal. And yes, your clutch has about had it :(

Your engine is a D16A6 (same as my Green ED6 project) GREAT Motor!!!
Doesn't get as much respect as other D series engines (due to the lack of VTEC) But the bottom end on the D16A6 is stonger than any other D series engine, which in turn, putting a D16Z6 or D16Y8 head onto a D16A6 block results in one of the strongest SOHC VTEC you could possibly build (i'm only talking Civic not Accord)

Now that you have the motor out, go ahead and get all new gaskets, timing belt, water pump, and clutch. With the low mileage of the motor, you should get some good power and a long healthy engine life. Oh and be sure to check valve adjustment (especially if you plan to drive it hard).
If the previous owner drove it hard and revved it to redline often, there's a good chance that the valves are out of adjustment.

I haven't seen your tranny but i'm almost certain it's an L3, probally the same tranny as the USDM Civic Si.

The front bumper add on is actually an OEM lip that the USDM si and EDM 1.6i came with stock. I'm actually looking for one. I'm putting an 89 civic front bumper on my daily driver, and i need an si lip.

Gross!!! :P That tranny is nasty, unless you plan on rebuilding it, don't even worry about welding it up, get another one that isn't cracked.
Also, that exhaust manifold heat shield, just toss it in the garbage, get you a nice header or something. :D

The crack was probably made by broken propellershaft. It is still a good transmission despite the looks.
