looks good so far, get her done

Re: A paint job gone out of controll...my 4G under the knife.
I should get the car home this weekend and start putting her back together. It should be painted by the end of this week. Let's hope so.
Ok, so the things we've had to change for various reasons are:
Fenders, It whould have been pointless not to. New is new.
Doors, The old ones had some rust in the bottom/inside.
I found ones that were perfect so it was a no-brainer
Rear wheel arches, The other side had two arches on top of each other,
the other one had some rust on the inside.
Rocker panels/skirts, the ones that were on were SOLID(they were about 4mm thick),
but ugly. They just had to go.
The drivers side rear wheel well was a real nightmare, the two arches on top of each other made the inside arch rot away and a part odrered from the dealer was delayed indedinetly. The piece had to be made, along with dozens of other pieces that whould have come through the dealer. This side alone took A LOT of time to get sorted.
All the tinted lights etc. I have managed to clean up, I haven't gotten new parts unless it saved me time or they were in a better condition than the ones I have. At the moment the body work has taken about 90-100 hours not counting part hunting and other little things.
Let's hope she's on the road by monday.

Friday was the day then. I drove the car home yesterday. And it felt great after all this time to get back in my 4G
There's still a lot to be done, just about every interior piece is out. And I need to put the door moldings back, the exterior is complete otherwise(with some rust protection running out of the holes and gaps).

Here's two shots of how she is now. I ran out of supplies to put the door moldings back on, I need to wait until monday. The EK4 belongs to a friend of mine. I helped him buy it.

I plan on getting some more interior pieces in today.

looking good. thats the first pic iv ever really seen of your car (not in small pieces
) i like your rims, what size are they? also is that a teggy lip?

Re: A paint job gone out of controll...my 4G under the knife.
Heh, I haven't posted a lot of pics of my 4G lately
The wheels are 16", the brand is Kosei and the model is Racing seneka.
The lip is original. It's called a "dohc" model lip over here.

thats hot
I wish mine looked like that
how come you painted the door handles but not the mirrors?

Re: A paint job gone out of controll...my 4G under the knife.
Thanks. I think it needs contrast. The door handle can be red because it's surrounded by red. But the mirror is right there with the black seals, moldings etc.
Re: A paint job gone out of controll...my 4G under the knife.
loving it. still not sure if i love the red stripe in the moldings or hate it.
hmmm
