Salvage Compatibility?

I paid a visit to my local Pull-A-Part today to see if I could find anything worth coming back to. While there, I began to wonder something: Just how interchangeable are the parts on 4th Gens?

Of course, the CRX is an almost entirely different breed, so I would be wasting my time scavenging for body parts from that. But what about sedans? I saw a few, all with good windshields, bumpers, fillers, panelling, and doors-- all things that I could use.

Would these things fit my '88 DX Hatch?

Also, I need some new seats. I'm wanting some Si's. Can I use any 4G seats, or do they have to be from a hatch?

This would be better suited in general discussion

but to answer your question rougly 2/3's of the 4g's parts (Hatch,Rex,Sedan, and Wagons), are interchangeable . With slight differences beteween years and body style's .

hit up the search bar , for previous threads that relate

In terms of engine, suspension and brakes, anything can be put in any model. Some important exceptions are the awd wagon drivetrain and rear shocks on the 88-89 models (can't be swapped to 90-91 unless you also swap the control arms).

Body and interiors are where lots of differences exist between models, just ask what you plan to swap or to buy to put on yours and we can tell.

I plan to get color matched bumpers, doors, windshield, side molding, and Si seats. I think that's about it.

I'm also wondering if there's a gauge cluster that has a tachometer built in that will fit in my dash.

yes the si models, plus the lx and ex sedans have a tach. You have to use one from the compatible years 88-89 or 90-91 depending on the year of your car.
