A paint job gone out of controll...my 4G under the knife.
Re: A paint job gone out of controll...my 4G under the knife
Something happening at last. I got the part problem sorted after a few lost weeks trying to get new ones. The body guy ended up making the pieces we need. Pieces are going in, welding, grinding and some more welding and grinding.

A small update, due to a busy schedule we've made little progress. The left side is about done. The aftermarket fenders need some adjusting to fit properly(not rly a surprise).
I also managed to locate some unpainted interior parts(air vents etc.)
I also got a new trunklid today(way better than the one in the car right now).

The hatch looks nice and rust free, keep up the good work. =)

Thanks, that hatch had been sitting for a good time at the place I found it from.kop-0-nen wrote: The hatch looks nice and rust free, keep up the good work. =)
Here's the latest pic of the car. The biggest problems are behind us I think. The part that we were supposed to get but didn't forced the sheet metal guru doing the final bodywork to make the piece out of sheet metal. Not easy.
I remember seeing that same part being replaced in your project kop-0-nen.

BTW, you seem to have two red rear center panels now, I could take the other one out of your hands if you like.
Re: A paint job gone out of controll...my 4G under the knife.
Not a problem. However the other one isn't all that great. it needs some work. I can send you pics tomorrow(Need to work today...).

Re: A paint job gone out of controll...my 4G under the knife.
A small update, everyone's been super busy and there's been little time to spend on the car.
However, the painter estimated that he should have it done by the end of next month.

Personaly, I'm not good at welding or painting so I leave it to the guys who know theirs stuff AND have the place to do it in.
Re: A paint job gone out of controll...my 4G under the knife.
Well the end of the month came and went, still no paint on the car. It's currently being prepped for primer etc.
The problem has been the lack of time from the painter, he has to study as well as work, on top of all the other cars he has lined up. We are getting there though. I'll grab some pics when I'm going over next.

Ok, update time. The car has paint. Just not all of it.
Still needed to be done: Paint the bumpers, doors, hood and mill the painjob.
